Angelia (my cousin) has helped us bought 2 iPhones from U.S. Once we got the phone, we are so excited and can’t wait to get it works with our Maxis line.

After some research from Internet, we got all the informations and the tools that required to unlock the iPhone and we have done it !!!

So today, we have consolidated all the information and share with all of you step by step:

3 Tools required: iPhone Firmware 1.1.4, iTunes, ZiPhone 2.5c

Step 1: In order to restore your iPhone to 1.1.4, you must put your iPhone into recovery mode. To do this please holds down both the Sleep/Wake for 3 seconds. A power slider will appear. Slide it to the right to power down the iPhone. Then keeping ONLY the Home button pressed, connect the iPhone to the dock. Keep the home button pressed until you see the iTunes logo and cable on the screen.

Step 2: Once your iPhone entered to Recovery Mode, you will see this screen. Hold the Shift key and click Restore.

Step 3: Browse to the firmware that you have downloaded, recommend using 1.1.4.

You can download the firmware here:

Step 4: iTunes is extracting software, please wait…

Step 5:Now, iTunes is restoring your iPhone.

Step 6: Once the restoration done, you will see this screen.

Step 7: Download ZiPhone 2.5c from http://www.ziphone.org and run it. What you need to do now is just click the “DO IT ALL!

Step 8: Now go to your iPhone, run Installer then iPhone will prompt you to connect to WIFI, do so.

Step 9: Click Sources, click Refresh.

Step 10: After refresh, Installer update will prompt, click Update Now.

Step 11: Once is done, it will prompt Installer Updated.

Step 12: Go to Installer again.

Step 13: Click Install -> System and install the following software:

  • BSD Sub System (after downloaded, a notice will prompt “Do not use password to change the password on 1.1.3, ignore it by click ok and wait for the installation done)
  • Open SSH

Step 14: Click Install -> iClarified and install the following software:

  • AppSupport Patch (1.1.4) (This is very important)
  • Volume Boost (1.1.4)

Step 15: Now insert your SIM Card and DONE.

NOTE: If you can’t get service from Maxis and “Fixed Number Dialing Activated” message prompt after you have entered PIN. You need to get your SIM card replaced by service provider.
