Recently, I have bought a macro photography companion from Shashinki - DK21M magnifying eyepiece

Nikon DK-21M Magnifying Eyepiece is compatible with Nikon D200, D100, D70/D70S, D50, Fujifilm S2 Pro, S3 Pro…etc. I have tested the DK-21M on my Nikon D70s and it fits perfectly on it and it slot into my Nikon D70s viewfinder firmly with two catches so you will not lost the DK21M easily.

Its magnification ratio is approximately 1.17x compare to your original viewfinder and this magnifier helps you to see more while you are compositing your photo especially while you are shooting marco.

See how your DSLR looks like after you have fitted DK21M on your camera.

PP first informed me on this new product by Adobe. Adobe Photoshop express is a web version of Photoshop, where you can crop, rotate, tweak and do other adjustments on the web. No installation was needed! They even give you a 2GB of free space to host your images. Isn’t that wonderful? Please not that in order to use this website, you’ll need to have Flash 9 plugin for your web browser.

I’m now taking a “test drive” at their site. Its a user friendly website, easy to navigate and its not overly crowded with information. This site looks like a simplified version of Adobe Lightroom. Upon signing up, you’ll now be able to upload your photos. Clicking on “My Photos”, you’ll be able to edit your photos, organize them in albums and etc. At “My Gallery”, you be able to view and share your album publicly. Clicking on “Browse”, you’ll be able to search through the public albums by other users.

What I like most about this site is the ability to edit your photos online. There’s no hassle of installing application and you’ll be able to access your photos at almost anywhere, just as long as there is internet connection. It also has some of the features that PP and I use often. We like to rate our photos so that its easier for us to access and edit them later on. They also allow you to set different categories for your photos and its unlimited. Unlike Flickr, free users are only limited to a number of categories.

Finally, the real F31fd replacement is here - F100fd. I still remember when Fuji announced F50fd, I wish F50fd has 28mm, at least 5x zoom, ISO 6400 & Optical Image Stabilizer. Now Fuji really unveiled what it is calling “ultimate F series” digital compact camera and not only ISO 6400, now up to ISO 12800 (wow !!!). Other than extremely high ISO, it is offer Wide Dynamic Range like what S5 Pro offering. Unfortunately, the F100fd doesn’t have Aperture and shutter priority modes.

Now we need to wait for the actual product and see whether this so called “ultimate compact camera” is that really good in term of image quality.

FinePix F100fd key features:

  • 12 megapixel Super CCD HR VIII and RP (Real Photo) Processor III: Ultra high resolution for razor-sharp results and unrivalled dynamic range
  • 5x Fujinon zoom lens: Powerful and versatile shooting options
  • Face Detection Technology 3.0 with intelligent red-eye removal: Even more capable, even faster than before
  • Dual Image Stabilisation: Combine mechanical image stabilisation with the effects produced with higher ISO (up to an amazing ISO 12,800)
  • Continuous Shooting: Top/Final 3 at 1.7 frames per second at full resolution and Top/Final 12 at 5 frames per second at 3 Megapixels
  • High speed playback: No waiting for high-resolution images to load during play back. The FinePix F100fd can display images at full resolution at 10 frames per second
  • Portrait Enhancer Mode: Mimicking a professional photo studio setting, by using Face Detection and preset camera settings, Portrait Enhancer minimises fine lines and small skin blemishes for smooth, natural looking portraits
  • Dual Shot Mode: In this selectable mode, the FinePix F100fd quickly shoots two images in rapid succession – one with the flash and one without – and saves both. This convenient function lets users perform a comparison at their convenience and select the most pleasing image
  • Special scene modes: The FinePix F100fd has 16 pre-programmed scenes, including a special underwater scene mode for use with a special underwater casing and a Blog mode that automatically reduces the size of copied images for easy posting to a Blog, Web page or email attachment
  • Micro Thumbnail: A playback feature that allows for viewing an index-style print on the LCD. The FinePix F100fdwill show up to 100 images in micro form, then the control buttons are used to select specific images. An innovative wheel navigation dial makes it easy to quickly find a single image by being able to jump to particular segments of images in the time sequence
  • IrSimple™: Infrared communication via IrSimple™ technology for fast, easy wireless image transfer to a compatible device
  • xD/SD/SD-HC compatible slot: The FinePix F100fdfeatures a xD/SD compatible slot which accepts not only Fujifilm’s traditional xD-Picture cards but also Secure Digital (SD) and SD-High Capacity/SD-HC cards too
