Wow.. how time flies. I’ve been neglecting my blog again. I’ve gotten a few major projects to do lately and PP and I are also quite tied up with renovating the new house. We’re enjoying this path that leads to the next stage of our relationship. Its fun, even though it could be quite tedious.

What makes it good is that we get to share ideas, opinions (even though sometimes we do have dispute over them) and together we build our home of sweetness and warmth. Oh and PP, my task to decide the interior colors is such terrible and difficult! Oh, if you’re interested with our progress with the house, head on over to www.lessthanten.net. After that we’ve settled with the house, I think that I will have more time again to blog about the current website trends, fonts and my iPhone stuffs soon. OK, to continue on with my websites, one of the major project that I’ve been working on is Juniper Champ’s website. Will be showcasing my other projects in the later posts. Juniper Champs is a child site from Juniper Networks. This is a site for certified engineers to share their passion for the future of IP technology and etc. This site is a hybrid of flash and php scripts. To install Fring, add the following source to to your Installer.App source list: ”http://fring.com/iphone.xml”. Under Install, browse to Fring folder, and click on fring to install. That’s it!

PP first informed me on this new product by Adobe. Adobe Photoshop express is a web version of Photoshop, where you can crop, rotate, tweak and do other adjustments on the web. No installation was needed! They even give you a 2GB of free space to host your images. Isn’t that wonderful? Please not that in order to use this website, you’ll need to have Flash 9 plugin for your web browser.

I’m now taking a “test drive” at their site. Its a user friendly website, easy to navigate and its not overly crowded with information. This site looks like a simplified version of Adobe Lightroom. Upon signing up, you’ll now be able to upload your photos. Clicking on “My Photos”, you’ll be able to edit your photos, organize them in albums and etc. At “My Gallery”, you be able to view and share your album publicly. Clicking on “Browse”, you’ll be able to search through the public albums by other users.

What I like most about this site is the ability to edit your photos online. There’s no hassle of installing application and you’ll be able to access your photos at almost anywhere, just as long as there is internet connection. It also has some of the features that PP and I use often. We like to rate our photos so that its easier for us to access and edit them later on. They also allow you to set different categories for your photos and its unlimited. Unlike Flickr, free users are only limited to a number of categories.

1. Go to http://www.techcrunch.com/get-youtube-movie
2. Copy the link of the video that you want to download from youtube.

3. Switch your browser to techcrunch.com and paste the link to the URL box and click Get Video. Then you will see the Download Link at below. Click the link to download the video.

4. A file named as “get_video…………………..” will be downloaded.

5. We recommend you to watch the downloaded video by using VLC Player.

So i was starting to search from Google on how to do that, but so far I didn’t see any complete guide on how to install the screen capture tool, capture, and get the captured picture file in iPhone to PC desktop.

I got some tips from peeInMyPantz and continue my research from Internet. Finally, I got it.

Step 1: Add http://repo.smxy.org/iphone-apps to your iPhone’s Installer Sources and let your iPhone refresh the sources. Go to: Installer -> Sources.

Step 2: Once the refresh done, go back to Install to Erica’s Utlities from Utilities category and wait for the installation complete.

Step 3: Download and install the below 2 software:

• PuTTY (for SSH connection to execute the snap command)
• WinSCP (for copying, moving and deleting your iPhone files from Windows PC)

Step 4: Run and configure PuTTY. Type in Host Name: Your iPhon’s IP address, Port: 22, Connection type: SSH then click Open.

Login as: root / Password: alpine. If you see can see the screen below, you are done for PuTTY.

Step 5: Next, you need to run and configure WinSCP. Type in Host Name: Your iPhon’s IP address, Port: 22, User name: root, Password: alpine, File protocol: SCP then click Login.

Now you are exploring your iPhone file system and browse to /var/root which your captured screen shot will store here. (BE CAREFUL, YOU ARE HAVING ADMIN ACCESS, ACCIDENTALLY DELETED IMPORTANT FILE WILL BRICK YOUR IPHONE AND NEED TO RESTORE AGAIN!)

Step 6: Now you are ready to screen capture your iPhone. Go back to PuTTY, type snap <filename> eg: snap sciphone-08. PuTTY will display a message: “About to capture screen” and you will hear a shutter sound from your iPhone. Your iPhone screen has been captured.

Step 7: After the screen captured, you need to download to your PC. Go back to WinSCP and click refresh button, you will see <filename>.png (eg: sciphone-08.png) stored in /var/root. So now you can download to your PC.
