Finally, the real F31fd replacement is here - F100fd. I still remember when Fuji announced F50fd, I wish F50fd has 28mm, at least 5x zoom, ISO 6400 & Optical Image Stabilizer. Now Fuji really unveiled what it is calling “ultimate F series” digital compact camera and not only ISO 6400, now up to ISO 12800 (wow !!!). Other than extremely high ISO, it is offer Wide Dynamic Range like what S5 Pro offering. Unfortunately, the F100fd doesn’t have Aperture and shutter priority modes.

Now we need to wait for the actual product and see whether this so called “ultimate compact camera” is that really good in term of image quality.

FinePix F100fd key features:

  • 12 megapixel Super CCD HR VIII and RP (Real Photo) Processor III: Ultra high resolution for razor-sharp results and unrivalled dynamic range
  • 5x Fujinon zoom lens: Powerful and versatile shooting options
  • Face Detection Technology 3.0 with intelligent red-eye removal: Even more capable, even faster than before
  • Dual Image Stabilisation: Combine mechanical image stabilisation with the effects produced with higher ISO (up to an amazing ISO 12,800)
  • Continuous Shooting: Top/Final 3 at 1.7 frames per second at full resolution and Top/Final 12 at 5 frames per second at 3 Megapixels
  • High speed playback: No waiting for high-resolution images to load during play back. The FinePix F100fd can display images at full resolution at 10 frames per second
  • Portrait Enhancer Mode: Mimicking a professional photo studio setting, by using Face Detection and preset camera settings, Portrait Enhancer minimises fine lines and small skin blemishes for smooth, natural looking portraits
  • Dual Shot Mode: In this selectable mode, the FinePix F100fd quickly shoots two images in rapid succession – one with the flash and one without – and saves both. This convenient function lets users perform a comparison at their convenience and select the most pleasing image
  • Special scene modes: The FinePix F100fd has 16 pre-programmed scenes, including a special underwater scene mode for use with a special underwater casing and a Blog mode that automatically reduces the size of copied images for easy posting to a Blog, Web page or email attachment
  • Micro Thumbnail: A playback feature that allows for viewing an index-style print on the LCD. The FinePix F100fdwill show up to 100 images in micro form, then the control buttons are used to select specific images. An innovative wheel navigation dial makes it easy to quickly find a single image by being able to jump to particular segments of images in the time sequence
  • IrSimple™: Infrared communication via IrSimple™ technology for fast, easy wireless image transfer to a compatible device
  • xD/SD/SD-HC compatible slot: The FinePix F100fdfeatures a xD/SD compatible slot which accepts not only Fujifilm’s traditional xD-Picture cards but also Secure Digital (SD) and SD-High Capacity/SD-HC cards too

Jacky Cheung’s concert is a superb one, as always! Thanks to PP for getting me VIP tickets. :) We’re only 10 rows away from the stage. Goodness, that is really very near. This time round, I can really see him in person, and dun really need the projected screens anymore WOOHOO..

We’re already at Genting on early Sunday. We’ve played a few rounds at the theme park, walk walk at the First World shopping area and also had some snacks there. What PP liked the most at Genting is to have a cup of hot coffee while enjoying the cool weather at the outdoors.

So, that evening, we actually planned to go to Coffee Bean to enjoy his coffee. While we’re on the way there, we actually met the team of workers for JC’s concert. So I told PP, maybe we should have his coffee here instead, and maybe we can wait for JC to appear. Just as we’ve suspected, JC did appear, and he was on his way to the Arena of Stars for the night’s concert. Took some shots of him, on the spot! Thanks to PP again, even though PP didn’t even know that JC was already in the car while he was still snapping with his camera. Ha ha :)

Now, back to his concert, JC performed some songs from his current albums at the start. His sound was a little rough, due to being sick again. JC actually planned to cancel this last day of the concert, but I really have to thank him that he didn’t Its his 99th concert from the World Tour. The last one in the overseas. What I would like to say that his voice is as good as ever even when he’s sick. Bravo!

Then, he continued it with the part where he introduced himself, his life and then it is followed by the part where he sang songs for his wife and daughters. What I liked most in this concert is this part. JC inserted a short stage musical of Snow Wolf Lake + Perhaps Love ( Ru Guo Ai ). This part is really special, the mixture of his songs blends very well into this musical.

This leads to the encore part. JC presented us with some of his very best old hit songs. Wow, this is really a very very cool concert. Thanks to PP again for this GREATEST 10th anniversary gift! Muaks.

Before I buy the Nikkor AF 50mm f1.4D, I tried to search internet for comparison photo taken by f1.4 and f1.8, but no luck.

After did some research  in forum and internet,  i have made up my decision, BUY !!!

Here I want to share some comparison photo taken by these 2 lenses, so for those who want to compare these 2 lenses can take a look.

In term of built quality, f1.4D win because f1.8D too plasticly and the f1.4D’s front lens element also larger than f1.8D.

Below test photos are taken with D80, SB600 on Manfrotto Tripod.

To me, I found that 50mm f1.4D is more contrast then f1.8D and f1.4D looks more creamy when both set to f1.8.  Other than that, the differences are very minimum.

@ f1.4

@ f1.8

@ f2.2

@ f2.8

@ f3.5

@ f4.5

@ f5.6

@ f11
